The Heritage Crew is a pool of simulated pilots that carries us through the growth phase. They fly the same aircraft under the same rules as real pilots, accumulate block hours, get promoted by our rank rules, and file PIREPs against scheduled flights nobody else would have flown.
Why we do this: an airline with only two active pilots looks dead. Heritage fills the background so that the Crew Center, the roster and the PIREP feed look alive — without real applications having to suffer for it.
You can spot a Heritage profile by a subtle HERITAGE tag on the pilot detail page. They do not compete in top-lists or hall-of-fame rankings for real pilots — we keep that separate.
Once we reach critical mass of real pilots, we scale the Heritage pool down or pause it entirely. Until then: no need to worry if you see an unfamiliar name in the feed.
