How do I enable cabin announcements in StarlingPulse?

Last updated: 2026-08-02

From StarlingPulse 4.3 the tracker plays the Eurostarling cabin PA over your flight — boarding, safety briefing, welcome aboard, descent, landing and deboarding. Each announcement is a single file carrying both the German and the English track, exactly as you would hear it on board.

Turning it on: open the CABIN tab, switch on "Enable cabin announcements", then click CHECK FOR VOICE PACK — Pulse downloads and unpacks the voice pack for you. The feature ships disabled; without this step nothing plays.

Controls: volume in percent, plus an individual switch for every announcement. The play button on each row previews it immediately, no sim required.

In-flight triggers: 29 points from boarding to disembarkation. Boarding begins when GSX performs it — without GSX, when you switch on the logo light; the beacon ends it. The welcome follows about two minutes later and the captain about ten: when the jetbridge docks, nobody is seated yet. From there: doors to automatic, the attention call and safety briefing, cabin dimming (night departures only), crew seats and cabin secure, the welcome after 3,000 ft, seatbelt signs on and off, cruise service, top of descent, the call below 10,000 ft, the landing calls and the farewell at the stand. Like a real network carrier there are two voices: the cabin crew and the captain (welcome at the gate, briefing once level in the cruise).

Long-haul: from 3,000 NM the meal service, lights out for the rest period, the wake-up two hours before arrival and the one-hour call join in. On short and medium haul those four stay silent. Announcements that mention the onboard service also come in per-haul wordings, so the cabin promises what is actually served on your leg.

GSX Pro: with GSX running, boarding, boarding complete and disembarkation follow the real ground services instead of the lights — nothing extra to install. Without GSX it stays on the logo light and beacon; the CABIN tab shows which one is in charge.

Manual announcements: delay, holding, connecting flights, doctor call and device warning have buttons — you call those yourself. The red STOP button silences a running announcement immediately.

Worth knowing: the cabin stays quiet under time compression, in slew and while the sim is paused. Every announcement plays exactly once per leg — including after a crash and restart of Pulse. Your own recordings can go straight into the announcements folder via OPEN FOLDER.
