These are two separate steps — just like at a real airport.
- Web check-in confirms that you are taking the flight and issues your boarding pass. That is all you need if you travel with carry-on only.
- Bag drop is the separate step for checked baggage: you declare the actual number of pieces, and the bags are tagged and weighed.
You do both online at /checkin. You can still change your seat after check-in.
